As you are likely aware, Canada Post began a rotating strike action, meaning that all mail services are now on hold in some centres across the country.
The postal strike will have an impact on our ability to communicate with students, who normally receive important information about their programs, admission and registration details, etc., via the mail system.
The college will mitigate any impact by temporarily changing our standard operations, and through a multi-channel communications strategy. Specifically, we will communicate important information with students via email and phone, rather than by mail.
Students were also asked to help us get the word out ? to make sure their fellow students know that a country-wide shut down of the postal system is in effect, and that they need to check email and voicemail, rather than post box.
In addition to the all-student email, we are communicating via Twitter and the college website, which will be updated as needed.
Student Services will make every effort within our abilities to make sure students are not disadvantaged in any way by the Canada Post strike.
